Solana Announces Release of SmartFlow v3.4 - Network Security Monitoring

Apr 15, 2015

Solana Networks announces the availability of Release 3.4 of its network security monitoring product, SmartFlow.  This new release brings powerful cyber threat detection capabilities to the existing SmartFlow product. Release 3.4 introduces new features with improved anomaly detection and low false positives.

SmartFlow, employs anomaly detection technology and network behaviour analysis to detect the presence of cyber theats and  malicious threats on the network. The tool protects Enterprise networks by detecting Botnets, Advanced Persistent Threats and multiple variants of DDoS attacks. Using intelligent analytics, SmartFlow enables

The SmartFlow product used advanced  transformation techniques to carry out anomaly detection, leading to high detection rates. After threat detection, an in-depth analysis of traffic features enables classification of the cyber attack type.  SmartFlow is also able to detect malicious actors who are conducting network and port scan surveillance regardless of whether sophisticated evasive techniques are utilized.

Release 3.4 utilizes work-flow automation to drill-down and pinpoint cyber security threats. A three-step process is utilized to bring 360 degree isolation of security threats: (i) Threat detection via traffic anomaly-based analytics (ii) Traffic Feature analysis based on anomaly types (iii) Heuristic-based analysis to further pinpoint the attacker's IP address and type of cyber attack. Workflow automation reduces the level of operator intervention when interacting with SmartFlow. SmartFlow alerts provide the required information in a timely fashion. SmartFlow's well-defined data export API allows seamless integration with third-party products as required.

SmartFlow has been developed and deployed to protect a range of client networks, including sensitive Government networks. It was designed to protect data and systems in diverse market segments including the financial sector, industrial control networks, health care and Government. It has been designed to be a key pillar as part of PCI compliance solutions for various networks.
