Solana Networks Awarded Contract to Develop Data Centre Discovery Solution for Shared Services Canada

Solana Networks, a leader in network discovery solutions, was recently awarded a Phase 2 contract to deliver a prototype data centre discovery solution for Shared Services Canada (SSC), as part of a multi-phased strategy.  The first phase completed in February 2021, required the delivery of a proof-of-concept (POC) system to validate the approach and its suitability to address Canada’s data centre consolidation efforts.

The Phase 2 contract will advance the POC to an operational prototype over the course of a one-year project.

Medium/large Enterprise networks and Government are increasingly consolidating their distributed data centres into a smaller number of modern data centres which are flexible and virtual. SSC for example has a mandate to consolidate hundreds of Federal data centres to a handful of modern data centres. Migration from old to new data centres is time consuming and costly due to the cumbersome and mostly manual approaches currently in use.
